Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sushi Cook to join the team at our busy Asian restaurant. In this position, you will be responsible for using high-quality ingredients to prepare delicious sushi creations for our customers. The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and committed to creating an excellent food in a fast paced environment. In this position, you will be responsible for using high-quality ingredients to prepare delicious sushi creations for our customers. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up the sushi kitchen section with necessary tools, ingredients and equipment
- Prepare sushi maki rolls, nigiris, sashimis, crudos, tatakis, Omakases and present them in an appealing manner according
- Work as a team with other Sushi Cooks and Chef specially during high volume shifts
- Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
- Follow all food safety regulations, inspect daily deliveries of fish and seafood.
- Know to clean, cut and prepare fish and seafood for the proper preparation of our sushi and omakase creations
- Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures including but not limited cleaning of sushi sections
- Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of previous experience as a Sushi Cook
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
- Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
